Mistletoe Borders

Just in time for the Winter Solstice for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere!
Our Summer in Australia has been topsy turvey and now the days will start to get shorter :(
Where I live there is little holly but yes we have mistletoe in abundance :)

Holly Overlay Tiles

Preview Holly Overlay Tiles --click to enlarge
Christmas seems to be approaching with speed :)
These tiles can be used to create borders or an overall pattern as fill.
The original tiles and their matching embossed overlays can be used seperately or together...and of course you can add plenty of other effects too :)

The Embossed Overlay Tiles
I usually use these with a blend mode of "overlay" or "soft light" but it is worth experimenting with various modes. The effect will vary significantly with different depths of colour in the layer below. For very light and very dark colours I duplicate the overlay.

Scottish Heritage Extras

A couple of text boxes and extra elements which I forgot to add to my Scottish Heritage Scraps :)

I have used papers and elements from the kit in my example album page below.

Photographs are in the public domain and from Wikimedia Commons.

James Cleland Richardson was a Scot who emigrated as a youngster to Canada.

He joined the 72 Seaforth Highlanders of Canada as a piper and was only 20 when he served and died at the Battle of the Somme. He was awarded a V.C. posthumously.

My Scottish Heritage Scraps

Some Scottish Heritage Scraps created for St Andrew's Day.

Like others in our Touch of Class group, I have more than a just a drop of Scottish blood :)
I've used for inspiration an Art Nouveau wallpaper design by William Morris although he certainly wouldn't recognise it!
The soft sepia tones should be ideal for your family old photos but all elements could just as easily be recoloured to suit your own colour scheme.
I have found that I often have to adjust the colouring of old photos a tad too, to make them blend nicely.
All elements are at 300 dpi.There are 2 pages 3600 X 3600 and 4 which are 2400 X 3000
The other elements are .png files.

Doodle Knobs png files and Paint Shop Pro Preset Shapes

Doodle Knobs Preview Click to enlarge Click on image above to enlarge.

I love the ability to create vector images in Paint Shop Pro and particularly to create and save multlayered preset shapes which I can add to my library and quickly use at any time :)

By using the "retain style" option, I can even reuse the original materials in my saved file :)

Alternatively, a new material, whether gradient, solid colour or pattern with or without texture can be applied to each of the layers and edited later too as you wish.

The outline or Style line can also be altered to suit.

Example of use with glassy effects applied to 2 of the layers

There are 20 shapes in this bundle all with more than one layer. Instructions for adding to your shapes library are in the TOU pdf file in the download zip. Also some tips for using the shapes.
For those who are using other graphics programs, I have also included .png transparent images at 300dpi which could be used to create brushes ..these are all at least 1000 pixels in one dimension.
